Ben Furimsky
Based in Colorado
Ben Furimsky has been fly fishing and tying flies since he was five, whe n his father introduced him to the sport.
Within a year, he was fishing on his own for bluegill and bass on flies he tied himself. Rarely did he return without
filling his waders looking for bigger fish. He has learned many skills and tricks of the trade from legends in fly tying
such as George Harvey. His flies continually develop and are tested all over the world.
One of the hardest fishing people you will know, Ben has been known to cast his fly rod for more than 24hrs straight, only
stopping to grab a snack! He has guided fly fishing in CO, PA, and NJ for the last nine years and taught fly tying since he
was 16 years old. His experience in fresh and salt water is broad having caught more than 60 species of fish on the fly.
In the last year he has landed three world record fish on flies of his design.
Barely having time to tie flies between fishing, Ben makes sure his flies work. Many of his patterns feature techniques
and materials used no where else. Some of these patterns have been featured in several magazines and fly tying books.
